Australia Predicted XI for WTC 2025 Final

Australia are set to square off against South Africa in the ICC World Test Championship 2025 final at Lord's from June 11-15. This is Australia's second WTC final while South Africa's maiden final.

The Aussies are the defending champions of the TCC World Test Championship having won the last final, beating India. Since the last final, Australia have made rapid strides as a Test team under the captaincy of Pat Cummins.

Australia decided to retain Cummins as their Test skipper after their last WTC success and he has led the side to another championship final. He will look to build on his past success and will look to add another trophy.

However, the refreshing part of this World Test Championship has been the rise of South Africa as a Test side. They made it to the knockouts of the last two ICC events in the ICC ODI and T20 World Cup. Having made it to the final of the WTC final, the side has proved that they are no pushovers and cannot be taken lightly. They topped the WTC 2025 points table having won eight out of their 12 Test matches. Australia won 13 out of their 19.

Australia, on the other hand, has been a side in transition in the Test side. With no David Warner, Australia are looking for an opener to replace him at the top. The return of Cameron Green have bolstered their middle order with his all-round abilities. However, there are still places up for grabs as we look into the predicted playing XI of Australia for the WTC final.

Who Will Replace David Warner

As said above, Warner will be a huge loss for Australia. He retired from Test cricket in January 2024 after playing his last Test against Pakistan. Australia have Sam Konstas who is primed to replace him at the top of the order along with Usman Khawaja. In case they look for a different combination, they can also open with Travis Head alongside Khawaja to give Australia a fast start

Is Cameron Green Australia's Designated All-Rounder In Tests?

Cameron Green is making a comeback into competitive cricket for the first time since October 2024 when he had a back surgery. That made him miss a few high-profile international commitments for Australia, including the Champions Trophy and the IPL season that followed. However, now Green is close to his best and is most likely to regain his place as Australia's number-one all-rounder ahead of Beau Webster who made his Test debut in the series against Australia. Moreover, as per reports, he is set to bat at number three in the WTC final.

Will Scott Boland Play As The Third Seamer?

Scott Boland rattled the Indian batters in the Test series down under. He took 21 wickets in the three-match series and did not let the side miss Josh Hazlewood who missed the last three Test matches with a calf injury. However, with Hazlewood back to his full fitness and the kind of bowling performance he showcased in the IPL, he will play in the WTC final as the third pacer with Nathan Lyon as the specialist spinner, completing a very dangerous-looking Australian XI.
