The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to convene a crucial meeting on Sunday to determine the future of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) following a recent ceasefire that has eased concerns over a military conflict disrupting the tournament.Â
Rajeev Shukla, the BCCI Vice-President, confirmed that the board, alongside IPL Governing Council members, will evaluate options to resume the league, which was temporarily halted due to the crisis.

BCCI Plans Meeting with Stakeholders on Sunday to Discuss IPL 2025 Resumption RoadmapÂ
With the ceasefire now in effect, the BCCI is ready to explore ways to resume the league. Shukla, speaking to the PTI, outlined the board’s next steps.
"The war has stopped. In the new situation BCCI office bearers, officials and IPL Governing Council, will discuss the matter tomorrow (Sunday) and take a call. We will see which can be the best schedule to complete the tournament," Shukla said as quoted to PTI.
During the height of the conflict, speculation swirled that the IPL might relocate to southern Indian cities which were considered safer alternatives due to their distance from conflict zones. Shukla clarified that such a move was only on the table while the crisis persisted.Â
"That was an option when war was going on. There are many options which have been discussed. The ceasefire has just been announced, give some time to us, we will discuss and then only a decision will be taken," Shukla added.
Dharamsala’s Fate to Be DecidedÂ
The BCCI’s meeting on Sunday will be pivotal in determining whether the IPL can resume at its original venues or if adjustments, such as rescheduling specific matches like the one in Dharamsala, will be necessary.
The ceasefire has opened the possibility of retaining most of the IPL’s original venues, with the exception of Dharamsala, which may require rescheduling.Â
"The broadcasters had initially asked its production unit to stay back in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai only when the military crisis was deepening. But after announcement of ceasefire, the crew has been instructed to stay put in all the original venue," a source said.
"So there is a chance that save Dharamsala game, which could be rescheduled elsewhere, venues like Kolkata might retain their matches," he added.
The BCCI is expected to explore alternative venues for the affected match, ensuring minimal disruption to the overall schedule.
