The 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre, who made a name for himself in the IPL 2025 playing for Chennai Super Kings, is a huge Rohit Sharma fan and now he receives a special bat from his idol, Rohit Sharma.

Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma gifted his bat to the young Ayush Mhatre, who idolised him since childhood. Mhatre received a moment of his lifetime as he received a bat from his idol. He shared the special moment on Instagram ahead of the England tour.

Mhatre's Dream Comes True with Rohit Sharma’s Gift

Ayush Mhatre was named as the Indian captain for the India U19 tour of England after he caught everybody’s attention in the IPL 2025. Mhatre was seen posing alongside Rohit Sharma, who gifted his bat to the youngster, which also had the autograph of the veteran. Mhatre thanked him in the caption for the bat:

"A bat, a blessing, and a memory of a lifetime. Thank you, Rohit da," said Mhatre on Instagram.

Ayush Mhatre also had the privilege of visiting Rohit Sharma in MI’s dressing room during an IPL match. He also shared the dressing room once with Rohit Sharma when the veteran returned to play in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai. Rohit replaced Mhatre in the line-up, who was listed to open in the match against Jammu and Kashmir.

Ayush Mhatre was in his fanboy moment and said that it was a surreal experience to share the dressing room with his idol.

"Started playing cricket by watching him bat on television to sharing a dressing room with my idol was such an unreal moment. Lots of learning to take forward," said Mhatre.

Ayush Mhatre will lead India U19 for a 5-match ODI series and 2 multi-day Tests in England, and this series will also feature Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old teenage sensation.
