Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) old warhorses Andre Russell and Sunil Narine will link up with the side ahead of their must-win match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 17.
The IPL 2025 resumes on May 17 with KKR taking on RCB in the reverse fixture in Bengaluru. The Knight Riders have two more games remaining, both away from home.
They have to win these two games to stay alive in the tournament. RCB, on the other hand, are just one win away from confirming their playoff spot. Bengaluru defeated Kolkata in the IPL 2025 season opener. KKR, the defending champions, are placed sixth on the IPL 2025 points table after five wins from their first 12 games.

KKR Face RCB In Must-Win Game On May 17
The season was halted midway on May 9 after the match between PBKS and DC was called off due to India-Pakistan cross-border tension on May 8. The BCCI decided to postpone the tournament for a week on May 9. On May 12, it confirmed that the season will resume from May 17, with the final scheduled on June 3.
Meanwhile, both Sunil Narine and Andre Russell will be joining the Knight Riders for their remaining games. Narine, Russell, along with teammate Rovman Powell and mentor Dwayne Bravo, have been in Dubai following BCCI's decision to postpone the season. KKR wicketkeeper batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz is in Kabul and will join the KKR squad along with the Caribbean quartet.

Knight Riders Await Status On Moeen li, Spencer Johnson, Quinton De Kock
An update on Moeen Ali and Spencer Johnson is awaited, with both of them back in the UK and Australia, respectively. Anrich Nortje will join the squad directly in Bengaluru from the Maldives, while an update on Quinton de Kock's availability is awaited as well.
KKR plays RCB on May 17 and then takes on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their final league game on May 12. Apart from winning these two games, KKR are dependent on other results to go their way to make the playoffs. The remaining season will be played across six venues, namely Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Ahmedabad is expected to host the Qualifier 1 (May 29) and the final (June 3), while Mumbai is expected to host Qualifier 2 (June 1) and the Eliminator (May 30).
