IPL 2026: Royals Want Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad And Shivam Dube In Exchange For Sanju Samson Trade: Reports

The trade talks regarding Sanju Samson are heating up with every passing day. The current Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper is seriously considering leaving the franchise and seek a franchise where he can get more freedom.

Multiple franchises have shown interest in roping in Samson, but it was the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) who seemed close to getting him through a possible trade. They saw his acquisition as a smooth transition from MS Dhoni as skipper, with Samson being seen as the next CSK skipper if he joins the team.

Meanwhile, according to reports in Cricbuzz, the Samson trade, which initially seemed easy after he formally requested the Rajasthan Royals to release him, is suddenly looking difficult.

Sanju Samson Trade Rumours Takes A New Turn

The Royals have asked for Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube from CSK in exchange of Samson for this trade to be completed. The report in Cricbuzz further stated that the franchise was not ready to entertain this deal, which can eventually become a historic trade in the IPL. In fact, CSK officials and management are reportedly reluctant to release any of their players.

Since Samson has made a formal request to the Royals to release him, there have been plenty of buzz regarding his possible trade. Several franchises are looking to get him via trade. However, with the current scenario developing, Samson might find himself saying with RR with CSK unwilling to release their matchwinners. However, the chances of him staying on look slim. Royals owner Manoj Badale is yet to comment on this development.

Samson Lacks Freedom At RR

There are reports of Samson losing out on a lot of his freedoms since last season and losing out his batting position as well. He lost out on his opening position to Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had a breakout season with the Royals earlier this year. In a recent podcast with Ravichandran Ashwin, he praised the 14-year-old after his exploits in the IPL.
