The Bahubali director SS Rajamouli, who’s an ardent follower of the game, has tweeted a heartfelt note to both the finalists, RCB and PBKS, ahead of the big final set to take place in Ahmedabad.
SS Rajamouli, who admires both Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, penned a heartfelt message ahead of their clash. The ace director first praised a shot played by Shreyas Iyer against Jasprit Bumrah, where he guided a perfect yorker towards third man a picture-perfect shot against the in-form MI bowler. He wrote:
“Iyer guiding Bumrah’s and Boult’s yorkers to the third man boundary… Exquisite.”

Rajamouli: “They Both Deserve It”
He then highlighted Shreyas Iyer's journey and legacy in the tournament — how he led Delhi Capitals to a final, then led Kolkata Knight Riders to a trophy, and despite his success, was dropped. Now, he has taken charge of a young Punjab side with more uncapped players than capped, and led them to the IPL 2025 finals. Rajamouli added that Shreyas deserves the trophy:
“This man leads Delhi to a final… and is dropped…
Leads Kolkata to a trophy… dropped…
Led a young Punjab to the finals after 11 years.
He deserves this year’s trophy too…”
At the same time, he couldn't ignore Virat Kohli, highlighting the champion quality in him. Rajamouli mentioned how Kohli has achieved every other trophy and feels this is his final frontier:
“On the other hand, it is Kohli… who is performing year on year… compiling thousands of runs. The final frontier for him… He deserves it, too.”
SS Rajamouli, who cannot choose a favorite, feels that whatever the result, it’s going to be a heartbreak for him.
