T20 Mumbai League: Meet Atharva Ankolker, Top Auction Buy Over Mhatre and Raghuvanshi

Atharva Ankolekar made headlines at the auction when he was picked by the Eagle Thane Strikers for ₹16.25 lakhs, making him the most expensive player in the T20 Mumbai League, surpassing other players like Ayush Mhatre.

The 24-year-old left-arm spinner, born in Mumbai, rose through the ranks thanks to his impressive performance in the U19 Emerging Asia Cup, where he took 5 wickets for 28 runs in the final against Bangladesh. He stood out as the highest wicket-taker in that competition.

Atharva Ankolker big breakthrough

Atharva made his senior team debut for Mumbai in List A cricket in January 2021. Since then, he has played 15 List A matches, scoring 161 runs with a highest score of 66 and taking 16 wickets, with best bowling figures of 4 for 55. In T20s, he has participated in 15 matches, scored 92 runs, and claimed 10 wickets, gradually establishing himself as a reliable bowling all-rounder.

However, statistics only tell part of the story. What truly sets Atharva apart is his temperament. He remains calm under pressure, maintains a disciplined line and length, and knows how to contribute with the bat when it counts.
